Elevator pitch demos

If I made very short, concise demos of product features in Midas, CoexEdit and CoexLinks, would that be interesting to you? What about on other Notes-related topics aside from my software? I've been pleased, and a little surprised, by the number of people watching my very short demo of the Gimp 2.8 tutorial on the Perspective Clone tool. It is under 2 minutes long on an relatively esoteric subject, but people seem to like it.

Would it follow that very short Youtube demos, aiming at about 2 minutes, would be a good way to introduce features and show how they work with the IBM Notes client, XPages and the web? Do you have the attention of... ooh, shiny? I know I do when it comes to tutorials, but do others feel the same way?

Btw, this is the video I am talking about.

That's exactly what I've seen, although even 5 minutes seems long unless the topic and delivery are absolutely compelling. People simply stop watching, and often after only a minute or so. While that will always be the case for some who wander into a video accidentally, it seems there is a relatively short attention span for information, and possibly even for entertainment.

First, I've mucked about with Gimp on and off (more off than on) for years. BEST 'HOW TO' EVER! Thank you!

I think the key to demo videos is to cover one topic, no frills, to the point. I get wicked tired of watching someone talk about what they're going to talk about for 5 minutes...get...to...the...point. Your Gimp video is spot on.
