Validating Domino HTML

Sheesh!  I have known for a long time that Domino doesn't generate valid HTML, particularly in R5, but now that I have moved my website to Domino 6, I had hopes that I could get it valid enough to pass the W3C HTML 4.01 Transitional validator.  I have carefully avoided some of the nasty HTML rendering issues, such as indented margins generating <UL> tags and such, and I have a mixture of hard coded and Domino generating HTML working pretty well, but I am getting really annoyed with the cellspacing and cellpadding attributes.  Domino insists on putting them in, but it seems to always make them equal to zero. no matter what the "Row spacing" and "Column spacing" are set to in the table.

Why doesn't it at least try to use interpret those values in a useful way?  I don't know.

Why doesn't it leave these attributes out?  I don't know.

If you set your own in the Other attributes for the table, why doesn't Domino notice and skip them?  I don't know.

Is there any way to override the default values (safely) in CSS?  I don't know.

Do any of you know?

I try not to use auto-generated HTML from Domino. Great for many things, not great for others. As we all know, it depends on the project!

I really wish Lotus would revamp the Rich Text editor and HTML translation. It's 2004! Time to give the Lotus Notes client a true WYSIWYG editor for writing web content.

I have the

problem you are talking about... how do I get rid of it? I am not using CSS indent or anything ... I used the table creator in domino 5 and I am currently trying to convert to ND6 and that
thing is giving me a headache... can you help me out?

      Thanks
