ASWA: It wasn't you

Fri 28 Mar 2008, 01:18 PM

by Ben Langhinrichs
"Hello, my name is Ben, and I am an ASW!"  Thus starts our weekly meeting of ASWs Anonymous, of which I am a charter member.  In case you thought I was referring to you in my earlier post, Is PlanetLotus just crack for ASWs?, and several of you wrote to me and asked if I was referring to you, I wasn't (although if you thought I was, perhaps you should join in our ASWA meeting, already in progress).  Nope, I was talking about me, and I was doing it in a way that might have been ironical if we Americans could ever get irony, which we clearly can't.  Yup, I am the addict, and true to my nature, over 77 people have already visited that early post with its provocative title.

Maybe it will even make it into the "What's Hot" section!  Oh joy!

Oh damn, there I go again.  Sorry.

Update:  I think the pimp is trying to get me hooked:

My post is hot!

Ben, you just made your first mistake as Charter Member. A true ASW would have used this link http://planetlotus.org/view.php?bid=137&pid=18661&lid=0 when referencing something they wrote, so when others click on it it adds to your click total at Planet Lotus :).

Yancy - Are you one of those people who stands outside AA meetings offering people drinks? Don't tell me this stuff.

Does ASWA involve 12 steps where you have to admit to the belief in a higher being than yourself?

Good idea, Yancy. Let's make Ben hot.

Carl - LOL. That would imply that there might be a higher being than me, and perhaps that he/she should be getting my page hits. What Google Page rank does heaven have?

What does ASW mean btw? Same as VIP?

Mika.. Thank goodness you asked ... there are 2 people who don't know ...
