Colin Pretorius recently wrote a post which cuts right to the heart of why we should all like Java (as opposed to LotusScript, I mean):
That's why I like Java. Testosterone! I churn out convoluted lines of explicitly-cast, temporarily-instantiating, horrendously-nested chaos and I feel like a man, dammit. After years of being seen as a bottom-of-the-foodchain, lesser-than-VB @formula and baby scripting-language developer who sits in the kitchen at ubergeek parties, I fear the snooty masses no longer.
Man, he sounds like me when I talk about capitalism. Go get 'em, Colin! You'll get your Corner Office yet.
