Sheesh! I have known for a long time that Domino doesn't generate valid HTML, particularly in R5, but now that I have moved my website to Domino 6, I had hopes that I could get it valid enough to pass the W3C HTML 4.01 Transitional validator. I have carefully avoided some of the nasty HTML rendering issues, such as indented margins generating <UL> tags and such, and I have a mixture of hard coded and Domino generating HTML working pretty well, but I am getting really annoyed with the cellspacing
attributes. Domino insists on putting them in, but it seems to always make them equal to zero. no matter what the "Row spacing" and "Column spacing" are set to in the table.
Why doesn't it at least try to use interpret those values in a useful way? I don't know.
Why doesn't it leave these attributes out? I don't know.
If you set your own in the Other attributes for the table, why doesn't Domino notice and skip them? I don't know.
Is there any way to override the default values (safely) in CSS? I don't know.
Do any of you know?
