Starting a rumor: Groove and IBM planning something together?

Not to start rumors or anything (ha ha), but do I sense a pattern here?  I am blogging from the Opening Session, so this is off the top of my head, but consider...

Groove has a Pedestal on the Showcase floor  I don't remember that from years past, and it was added very recently...

Ray Ozzie just spoke in the Lotusphere Opening Session (and sounded pretty upbeat about the future of collaboration and Notes),...

Ray Ozzie recently bought a license for Midas (probably coincidence, since he just wants it for generating high quality XHTML), which might exhibit a certain interest...

OK, none of it probably means anything, but hey, it's my blog, and I can spread what rumors I like.  And if there is something to it, remember that you heard it here first.

Sessions database is for Notes too

I ran into an old friend, and when I asked if he had downloaded the Lotusphere Sessions DB, he said, "No, I don't have a PDA."
(Long pause)
Uh, I don't have a PDA either, but I guess IBM put a link to our sessions page saying it was for PDA synching.  OK, that is part of it, but it is a heck of a lot of fun, and very useful if I say so myself, in Notes database form.  So, even if you "just" have Notes, go ahead and download it.  You won't regret it.

For your iPod?  I understood when Steve Walch created his version for:

  • Smartphone  (demonstrates replicating data to device for off-line access)
  • Mobile browser (for other mobile devices with micro-browsers)
  • Web service (build your own clients that access live session data)

But I thought iPod's were for music.  Oh well, I guess I'll have to try and win one this week.
